ANRI Sarah Kay 'To Love and to Cherish and With This Ring' Figurines (Limited Edition)
The piece is designed by Sarah Kay for Anri Italy. Sarah Kay is the pseudonym of Sydney based illustrator Vivien Kuboš. Vivien is a housewife in a suburb of Sidney, Australia, and known all over the world for her charming drawings of happy children.
By 1983, interpreting Sarah Kay motifs had become the work of ANRI Master Sculptor Ulrich Bernardi, who was already well known for his original nativity figurines and other religious pieces. Using the finest Cembra pine, he began transforming Sarah Kay designs into three dimensional wooden sculptures. Vivien’s love for art and her own children blends with Ulrich Bernardi’s passion for woodcarvings.
These are hand carved, hand painted little works of art. They are carved entirely of wood and every single cut is worked by hand and every detail carefully stained with a special hand mixed oil paint to enhance the beauty of the wood.
The figure of the bride stands 7" tall x 2-3/8" wide x 2-3/8" long. Incised on the back of the base is Sarah Kay's facsimile signature and the underside has the ANRI metal disc.
